This Dissertation is the analysis of the recurring topic of Cultural Appropriation in Fashion. Cultural Appropriation is a historical yet current topic, whose analysis requires a thorough and layered analysis of diverse perspectives and scenarios and a deep understanding of complex political and ethical discourses. This Dissertation is covering the main aspects fuelling Cultural Appropriation debates all around the world, the abuse of entitlement and power by the western supremacy over minority cultures, while proposing a separate handbook for the main appropriators, Stylists, Designers and Creatives, on how to work with their inspiration in a cultural “appreciating” way. Emphasising the effect, Cultural Appropriation has on aesthetics, identities, communities and politics, while supporting creatives in working with their inspiration the most ethical way.
